Game Boy Game Sales Successful?

January 16, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Today, I discovered that I only sold 1 out of 7 games for the Game Boy on Ebay.  I’m very disappointed that I only sold Bonk’s Adventure, but I guess that’s how the game is played on Ebay.  You win some, you lose some.  Ebay is a great place to buy miscellaneous things, but a gamble to sell things.  I really dislike the insertion fees and PayPal fees.  At least on Amazon I can leave an item for sale for a long time and not get charged a fee for it.

Anyway, I’ve decided to try my luck on Craigslist to see if anybody is willing to buy my games.

Updated Action Figure Gallery

January 16, 2010 · Leave a Comment

I’ve updated my action figure gallery because somebody was interested in buying the A.T.A.X. and Swarm alien figures.  He had initially been interested in purchasing my box of 22 action figures, but when I offered to sell him the A.T.A.X. figure, Swarm alien, and mini Dark Horse comics (numbers one to eight) as well, he accepted.  I’m very happy that transaction went smoothly and I’ve got a bit more space in my closet now.

Super Famicom Game Sales were a Success

January 9, 2010 · Leave a Comment

I’ve successfully sold all 22 of my Super Famicom games on Ebay!  Selling on Ebay has been giving me more experience so I’m now more comfortable listing a greater number of things to sell there.  I’m now moving on to try my hands on selling Game Boy games.  I’m not sure if these old games are popular anymore, but so far I have a bid on 1 of 11 games I’m auctioning so that’s a good sign.  I expect the Metroid II Return of Samus and Rockman World 3 games to attract the most buyers out of the rest of the games, but I guess we’ll find out.

Selling Used Books

January 2, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Wow, I didn’t realize it was difficult selling used books online.  The cost for shipping and packing supplies can take quite a bit of money with the high fees Amazon charges.  I wish I had one of those B-flute cardboard rolls.  I read that they’re cost efficient, but I think they’re only sold in very huge rolls.  I decided to take down 2 books from Amazon because they didn’t seem to have any demand at all.  I only have 2 books now that are listed on Amazon so I don’t really mind if my current listings take a long time to sell.  Right now I’m just concentrating on my current Ebay auctions.  I don’t sell books at all on Ebay since I read that Amazon was a much better place to sell them.  I think it’s because the first place customers usually go to online is Amazon.

Anyway, I can just sell used books to book companies online that offer buyback options if the books I’m trying to sell don’t have much of a demand.  Sometimes, that method is even better than selling my books on Amazon.  I’ve noticed that lots of people sell books that have extremely low demand on the Amazon listings for 1 penny.  I didn’t understand the point at first, but then I realized that they intended to profit from the shipping credit that Amazon gives them if the book does sell.  I don’t think those books are worth listing if no one seems to be interested in buying them and the profit would be very small because of the commission and final value fees Amazon charges.  I think the best thing a seller would gain from selling books like those would be collecting positive feedback ratings.  It would be better to use the buyback option that online book companies offer in that case.  Plus, many of them pay for the postage and all you have to do is find a box and packing material.  Since I have tons of college notebooks and papers, I merely take out the papers, stuff them in plastic bags, and then I have free packing material!

Beginnings of a Seller

December 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I decided to sell books on Amazon.com over the month and so far I’ve sold 3 books which isn’t too bad for a new independent seller.  I’ve also recently started selling on Ebay.com and that’s been pretty successful as well.  The Super Famicom games (Japan’s version of SNES games) I’ve been auctioning has produced positive sales so far.  I hope I can make a constant profit to support my college student loans.  This has been an exciting project and I’m clearing up the unwanted clutter in my house as well.

Don’t Forget to Check Out My Action Figure Collection

December 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I need to do something to take my mind off of my current situation so I’ve decided to do a little project.  I have already put up a small gallery on this blog for my small action figure collection and will be putting up my card collection later on.  The action figure collection includes Ultraman kaijuu (monsters), a Kenner Aliens action figure, and Godzilla action figures.  My card collection will take time to put up since there’s a lot to go through.  The collection will include Japanese versions of Rockman and Pokemon cards.  I had a ton of Pokemon cards before, but I sold most of them at a garage sale to make myself some cash.  I only regret selling my Dragonball Z cards, but then again, I still made plenty of money.  I’m also still deciding whether I should put up my basketball and Japanese baseball card collection so we’ll see what happens.  In the meantime, enjoy my action figure gallery.

I Need My Chi Back

November 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I’ve been thinking lately whether my problems are stemming from a mental or spiritual problem.  I remember my clinical social worker told me that 3 things can affect a person’s health and they’re physical, mental, and spiritual.  My chiropractor interestingly explained those 3 factors to me a long time ago too.  I’m quite convinced that I’m physically healthy which leaves me with mentality or spirituality.  I’m working on the mentality part with relaxation and awareness exercises.  Also, meditation is good for the physical, mental, and spiritual factors.  However, I’m starting to think that maybe I need a spiritual healing or boost.  I’ve always thought that my spirituality was strong, but I think it started to wane after a summer school course in algebra during my intermediate school year.  I despise math and it’s my worst subject, but I worked as hard as I could for this class.
